在夏阳的炙烤中，"比上有余"杯新人竞赛落下帷幕。
* 由[[*user Tengurthy Clotsfoot]]所著的[[[SCP-CN-2887]]]，以村上春树的《挪威的森林》为灵感来源，将本书开头章节直子所提到的“在丛林边缘的一口井”这样一个一句话描述的点子进行了SCP文档化转写。采用经典的异常地点描述+探索记录格式，虽是新人的处女作，但散发出老牌写手般娴熟的气质，荣获SCP项目赛道冠军。
* 由[[*user Moblees]]所著的[http://scp-wiki-cn.wikidot.com/lower-nerve-centers 脊柱]，同样始于一个一句话便可描述的简单点子：脊柱如果能独立思维活动的话会发生什么？但从简单的点子铺开而来，通过不徐不慢，情节紧凑的叙述，作者成功在螺狮壳里设起了道场，荣获故事赛道冠军。

++* 中分“狠撕猛咬竞赛”九月底即将进行

日本分部于2018年举办过初代棍棒互殴竞赛，“棍棒互殴”这一竞赛名当然不应如字面意义理解，意味着参赛的写手们必须诉诸暴力，而是意味着参赛作品要像“棍棒”代表的冷兵器一样，回归武器/SCP文档原始的风味。参赛作品需紧扣“系列一风味”的两大关键词：“报告书”与“都市传说”，抛弃后天生成的跳脱特点。这意味着参赛作品不能使用任何代码、不能涉及GoI及PoI、不能使用任何设定……“原汁原味”，在评委席后端坐的老饕们可是这么要求的。

本次举办的“狠撕猛咬竞赛”大抵可以看做棍棒互殴竞赛的中分翻版，但是在规则上对原竞赛做出了一定的查漏补缺，使其更符合“原汁原味”这一要求。

在中伏天的艳阳里，「异想群星」科幻月主题活动于7月31日顺利结束。这一科幻接力活动中各种不同风格的作品让人大饱眼福，每个作者根据“28星宿”做出的主题发散也让人拍案称奇。虽然依然出现了一些不大不小的插曲，但考虑到此次活动属于中分首次接力活动，本次科幻月活动可以说得上是顺利结束。在这里，半月刊要为组织活动的主办方和所有参加本次活动的写手们道一句辛苦！

++* 日本分部十周年X竞赛即将举行！

7月21日，日分发布了X竞赛中心页。2023年是日本分部建站十周年，本次竞赛的X自然也是罗马数字的十的意思。本次竞赛特别之处在于，除了属于本次竞赛的新主题“怪”之外，日本分部以前的竞赛的主题也被加入到了可写主题中。换句话说，加上日本分部在之前举办的6次夏季征文和3次整千竞赛主题，本次竞赛恰好也有十个主题词供写手挑选。

本次竞赛的头图是日本分部曾用竞赛头图的快闪切换。看着一个个竞赛头图切换过去，不禁让人感叹：日分十年，日月如梭。

北京时间8月1日07:00，国际站的伟大传说与美学风格竞赛关闭了投稿窗口。这意味着，本次参赛的中文分部写手们已经失去了他们最后的机会。由于大部分写手抽取到的设定和风格缺少翻译，参赛难度可谓巨大。这导致参加本次竞赛的中分选手“伤亡惨重”——18名中分参赛选手中只有8名选手发布了自己的作品。看来对于其他语言的设定翻译，中分依然是任重道远。
