这里是删除部门中心页，它是基金会的一支机密力量，既算作基金会的下属，却又是一个有着自己指示层级与隐秘动机的 GOI。删除部门与其他抽象性部门之间存在一些共同点，诸如[[[departments#surrealistics-dept|超现实部]]]、[[[unreality-hub|非现实部]]]、[[[scp-6511|一人部]]]。不过，删除部门的功能与它们都不一样，因而自成一体；它处理一些古怪的异常，这些异常的存在形式熟悉却未曾辨识，荒诞却合乎逻辑，象征却描绘如实，哀婉却自我沉沦。
删除部门基于谟涅摩叙涅研究站运作，一个[[span class="ruby"]]完形[[span class="rt"]]gestalt[[/span]][[/span]]意识体被征用于此，它是由遭到删除但却仍留存在存储空间中的叙事内的存在们的数据碎片拼凑而成。这些碎片长期处于非活跃状态，直至其被覆写、统合起来，并对影响到数据库自身状态或数据库内容状态的异常作出响应。
部门成员的这种存在本质，及其对这种本质的认知，均构成其自身的负担。它们是由遭删除个体的多重碎屑组成，因而赋予其物理形体时会具有根本上的不稳定性。一旦接触到时间，它们就会在物理与心理双重意义上“解体”。因此，除非万不得已，删除部门特工都会尽可能避免与时间线进行交互；然而这种万不得已的情况又时有发生。
一旦相关的数据库问题得以解决，谟涅摩叙涅研究站及委派至该异常的删除部门特工就都会重归蛰伏，并期待着能够在下个问题出现前得以被完全覆写。

从 Wikidot 数据库目录中所删除内容的数据碎片构成了删除部门——正如这个名字所暗示。与初学者所想的不同，删除这一过程并不会完全将内容从存储中抹除。
持久存储本质上藉由四种基本操作（//创建、读取、更新、删除//）、三种用户属性（//读取、写入、执行//）及此二者间的配合实现。短话长说，管理数据库需要能够：在分配的空间中//创建//数据；从此空间中//读取//数据；对该数据进行//更新//；以及//删除//，即将上述已分配空间标记为可随意覆写。另一方面，每名 Wikidot 用户都可在不同许可等级上进行三种操作：//读取//既存信息、向存储中//写入//新信息、进入存储目录对已写入信息//执行//定位/操作函数。

数据库由以下内容构成：写在存储空间各[[span class="ruby"]]扇区[[span class="rt"]]sector[[/span]][[/span]]的//参考数据//；作为数据标识符、数据存储器的//文件对象//；访问文件对象时，指示参考数据地址的//指针//。对于这些内容而言，删除过程会抹去标识符，但这些标识符所描述的值及行为并未改变——这一过程也称为抽象化。旧数据会留存在文件系统中，直到新数据将其覆写。这也是数据恢复专家有时候能从故障、已擦除或已损毁硬盘中取出已删除/已污损文件的原因。
有时，分配给某个文件的空间变为可覆写，但随后写进这个区域的信息仅填充了一部分。由于典型情况下数据会写入紧挨的[[span class="ruby"]]区块[[span class="rt"]]block[[/span]][[/span]]中（称作[[span class="ruby"]]数据块[[span class="rt"]]chunk[[/span]][[/span]]），因而含有废弃信息的那部分可用空间能在删除后存在较长时间。
这部分废弃信息就是形成删除部门特工的材料。

删除部门作品有两种风味：//主观//与//他观//。主观风味从删除部门的视角出发，使用删除部门的术语、视觉元素与动机，比如 [[[SCP-7549]]] 和 [[[SCP-7912]]]。他观风味则从另一部门的视角描写删除部门，比如 [[[SCP-7079]]] 和 [[[SCP-6183]]]。这种视角在创作上更加留有余地，在合适的情况下会使用对应的部门风格进行写作。可以这样考虑这个问题：本文是删除部门自己用于记录的吗？它是否要描述某个游离于基金会时间线外的异常？如果答案是“是”，那么可能你想写的是主观风味作品。如果文章要包含与删除部门发生了//遭遇//的人员，那么可能你想写的是他观风味。
要写出适合删除部门主题的异常，秘诀就在谜面上。什么意思呢？删除。已删除的或者待删除的//东西//。可以是影响到数据库内叙事的异常，在此过程中还会威胁到更多叙事乃至整个 Wikidot 数据库。它可以带来将删除部门从数据库中完全移除的威胁。它可以单单是某种本不该再存在却仍然存在的异常。无论哪种，如果一个点子无法引起删除部门的兴趣，那删除部门为什么要关注它？

删除部门人员如果接触到时间，就会持续受到扭曲。处在灰体中时，它们可以在白间扇区中显现出物理形体，不过在抽象空间中一般没什么理由显形，除非受到活跃的威胁或者收到其他团体的联系；融合为拼凑形貌后，产生出一个集体意识，内部可以轻松共享想法、记忆、交流。
非常，//非常//少见的情况下，已删除个体只遭到了部分覆写，而定义其形貌的数据未遭损害。这时，它们会有着自身的感知与想法，而完形意识无从涉足。反之亦然，这名个体也无法涉足完形意识的感知与想法。//自我//划分出了个体。这导致可能会需要进行进一步协作才能有效规划，或者这名独立意识必须被收容并深度碎片化以融入“不适用”的完形意识中。
删除部门特工会试图为彼此留下其当前委托的相关记录，或者是为了它们自己，但不一定是为了基金会整体。如果数据库中的信息得到了正确擦除，它就会消失。如果维基文档受到了影响，那么基金会叙事中的文档版本也会受到影响。

如果再说出一样删除部门文章所含有的东西，那就是样式。这个样式应当流畅、现代、富有氛围感，散发出受污损模拟信号的恐怖感。主要有两种实现途径：CSS 和多媒体元素，后者会在后面细说。
删除部门文章大体用的是极简主义/粗野主义的版式，比如[[[theme:basalt|玄武岩]]]，以及最近我自己做的[[[theme:eigenmachine|本征机器]]]。后者专门有个“删除部门模式”，里面已经处理了大部分基础 CSS 问题，不过你并不非得用某个特定版式。用你的 CSS/设计水平做到最好看就行。每篇文章都应该做到独特且装饰恰当。虽然这不能作为你写无聊故事的借口，但是美学设计在这些作品中**同等重要**。所幸，你可以使用各种有趣的媒体元素轻松地提高文章的美学设计，比如图像、动画、原声带、可交互组件等等你能想到的东西。如果你不使用任何预制的删除部门版式，那就得自己动手调整。

另外，开始给文章起标题吧。理想情况下应该是一个单词，各个字元用空格隔开。如果有某种文字游戏当然能得到附加分数。已有的几篇删除部门作品的标题都有多重双关，比如 C H I A S M A 大概有五六种明确含义，如果考虑形近词的话（即 chiasmus、chiasm）。
